I’ll admit it, most of my thoughts are flimsy and probably false.
But there are a few thoughts I consider solid. Solid thoughts are something you can stand on, something you can chew. Recurring sources of new ideas. These new ideas are likely to be flimsy. But when tested might become solid.
Ideas become solid when tested. They need formidable opponents, don’t go testing them against weaklings. If your idea gets killed, pick it up and make it stronger. If it keeps getting killed, leave it be. The opponent was stronger, maybe even right.
Don’t accept new ideas too easily. Don’t give up on them either. It is possible to think about something and not believe it. Thinking in this way will make your thoughts more solid. More ground to stand on, more material to build with.
